In creating a holiday for you around India, I believe the questions to ask are ‘what’ and ‘why’, not ‘where.’
Why is it that you want to visit India, what are your hobbies, what expectations do you have, is there a specific purpose? I ask these types of questions rather than just, ‘Where would you like to go,’ because so little of India is actually known. Getting to know a little bit about you, your interests and hobbies, likes and dislikes, and your expectations is imperative in making sure I get things just right.
Knowing the country and the possible experiences as I do, and combining this knowledge with your what and why’s, will make for a far more meaningful journey than simply visiting a set of monuments that are on a bucket list. Of course, these better-known cities can be worked in, even the Golden Triangle can be tailored! Do you have a particular interest in food, or walking, would you like to try an early morning yoga session or see a city as it wakes up on a cycle tour, or float over Jaipur on a hot air balloon safari? Do you like markets and bazaars or a quiet spot to appreciate a sundowner? I support various NGO’s, would you like to incorporate visits to one of these?
A true experience of India isn’t visiting a monument with a hoard of other people, it is that unexpected encounter, a mood captured, and a moment shared. These can’t be planned, but they can be allowed for. The trick is to slow it down, take more time, peel back the layers, get to know a destination and then, see more.
This is a key element to any trip.
I have specialised in the luxury travel sector, I’ve also worked on a comprehensive project to determine India’s best hotels and homestays all of which were under GBP100.00 per night and can easily work an itinerary around your specified budget.
With regards to the hotels I use, some may be old favourites I’ve worked with for 20 years or more, others may relatively new places, however, I have personally stayed at all of them and they will ensure that you are greeted with a warm welcome and will have a wonderful time.
