Travels With Philippa - Discovering Rajasthan

Discovering Rajasthan: 21 October – 1 November, 2024

Legendary cities, opulent palace hotels, a unique wildlife, a history of battles and ruined forts, land given for bravery and the resulting fortified homes of the Thakurs (landed gentry) now being converted into boutique hotels are just some of the facets which sum up Rajasthan.

While the better-known cities of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur are doubtless fascinating places to visit, away from the cities, Rajasthan offers a kaleidoscope of experiences that those just traveling the main circuit often miss out on.  On this journey we’ll do both, see the highlights of the main cities and take time to visit off-the-beaten-track destinations, which provide an invaluable insight into this most romantic of all of India’s regions.

Each place we stay has a special anecdote whether from when I first discovered it to a more recent trip; from when I thought I’d been sold to the white slave trade, to discovering a special recipe, to my fathers favourite place. Come to discover for yourselves the reasons that they have all become firm favourites of mine!
