June: Wild Ladakh – Black-necked Crane

The Black-necked Crane, known for its graceful appearance and captivating dance displays, migrates to Ladakh, high in the Indian Himalaya during the summer months. This itinerary provides you with the opportunity to observe these endangered cranes in their natural habitat, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and pristine valleys of Ladakh. Accompanied by  a  knowledgeable guide, you’ll  not only learn about the conservation efforts in place to protect these endangered birds and the unique ecosystem they inhabit but capture stunning photographs as they gracefully soar through the sky or engage in their elaborate courtship rituals. In addition there will be the opportunity to immerse yourself in Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage, visit ancient monasteries, and interact with the warm and hospitable local communities.
